Black and White Pleated Striped Skirt Outfit

I thought about doing an outfit post but on New York City’s first 90+ degree day, I just couldn’t stand outside long enough! So instead I snapped my OOTD on the floor of my air conditioned bedroom. Much nicer.

I really love this skirt that I bought over the weekend at Pema in Brooklyn, which is one of my favorite stores. They have tons of cute dresses, skirts, tops and shoes for around $50 – I literally head there at the beginning of every summer to stock up!

This past weekend I went to Boston for some family events (a graduation party and Father’s Day). I was lucky enough to have time to visit my favorite neighborhood, the South End. I especially love this charming area because there are so many fabulous brunch restaurants (read more about my top restaurants in Boston here) and cute little shops like Flock, a contemporary fashion boutique on Shawmut Ave. Every street in Boston’s South End is picture perfect, so naturally I took lots of photos!

Above you can spot one of the last remnants of the old South End. Before the million dollar condos and dog toy boutiques existed, this neighborhood was primarily Syrian and Lebanese. Sahara Syrian restaurant has been practically abandoned for almost 50 years, used for storage by Syrian Grocery a couple blocks away. This grocery store, by the way, has great Middle Eastern food items and the owners are super friendly, if you have a chance to pop in!Boston's South End Boston's South End

How pretty is that?
